This large scale 1/16 radio control tank recreates the German Main Battle Tank Leopard 2 A7V. Thanks to extensive research of the actual tank, Tamiya’s designers have faithfully depicted the updated square headlights, front additional armor plate and updated turret rear shape.
About the Leopard 2 A7V
In 2017, it was decided to give the Bundeswehr Leopard 2 an upgrade with the A7V, an improved version of the Leopard 2 A7 (A7 was an upgrade of the 2001 Leopard A6). The A7V has additional hull front armor to increase its survivability, with reinforced suspension. Its L/55 120mm gun can take on enemy armor up to five kilometers away. Other design evolutions include a sight device to amplify vision in poor visibility, new tracks and a new turret rear basket. 104 existing tanks are to be upgraded to A7V spec, and units began receiving them in September 2021.
About the Model
This is a 1/16 scale R/C model assembly kit. The powerful Leopard 2 A7V form is faithfully captured.
Take control of forward and reverse movement, a range of turns and pivots, turret rotation and gun elevation. Gun recoil and vehicle kickback are also recreated.
Authentic turbo engine and firing sounds are coordinated with model actions.
Gun barrel control system keeps main gun automatically trained in a set direction.
Compatible with separately sold Battle System.

- Just like the full-size tank, this model has all-wheel independent suspension with torsion bars for superior mobility. Suspension arms are die-cast (plastic for Item 56020 (1/16 R/C Leopard 2 A6)) for higher quality and reliability.
- Pre-assembled tracks have inserted rubber pads.
- The gun barrel is aluminum, and the chassis is ABS plastic.
- The new DMD T-12 control unit provides a gun barrel control system. Features volume adjustment using transmitter, which was not possible for Item 56020.
- Gun barrel control system controls gun elevation and turret direction, keeping the gun trained in a single direction.
- Control Unit uses 4 channels to control forward/back movement, sharp and pivot turning at any speed. Gun elevation, recoil and turret rotation can also be controlled. Engine sounds are synchronized with model speed, while main gun and machine gun firing are realistically accompanied by lights and sound (facilitated by DMD Multi-Function Unit).
- DMD control unit and battery pack are installed inside the turret. The pin-attached upper turret allows easy replacement of battery pack. Also, the magnet-attached hatch at the turret rear allows quick access to power and setup switches.
- Features Type 540 motors (x2, running), type 130 motor (x1, turret rotation), TSU-03 servo (x1, gun elevation) and type 130 motor (x1, recoil).

This accurate model has a design based upon extensive research of the full-size vehicle.
The L/55 120mm smoothbore gun has an elevation range of around 30 degrees.
Orange and white LEDs are used to simulate main gun and 7.62mm machine gun fire respectively.
20 metal balls in the turret ring give smooth 360-degree motion. Rotate the turret with the gun depressed and it automatically rises to avoid the hull, returning to its original elevation when clear.
LEDs are used to illuminate various lights across the model.
Realistic textural recreations of the front armor and mud flaps.
Equipment such as caged headlights and the driving support system sensor head are accurately recreated.
A closer look at the turret-top MG3 and the covered EMES 15A2 main sight.
Take a look at the commander's portable display and the PERI R17A3 panoramic sight on its round base.
Photo-etched parts recreate the turret side basket surfaces.
The additional mine protection on the front underside is also recreated. Plastic double-pin tracks are pre-assembled with integrated pads.
The rear gearbox unit employs two type 540 motors. Power transmission mechanics follow those on a full-size tank: one motor controls forward/reveres, and the other control right and left track speed.
The DMD T-12 control unit controls the motors and coordinates lights and sounds with actions.

Once RC Hobbies has confirmed acceptance of the buyer's order, we will endeavor to dispatch the buyer's order within
1-3 Business days unless a different time frame is specified in relation to a particular product. If we are unable to dispatch
the buyer's order within the time frame specified by RC Hobbies we will endeavor to contact the buyer and advise
the buyer of the expected dispatch date.
In stock items are generally dispatched on the same day you place your order, unless a different time frame is specified
in relation to a particular product and provided the order was placed before our daily cut off time which is usually
around 1PM.
We use NZ Post, Aramex, and Post Haste for New Zealand orders. Deliveries are usually 2 working days, but please allow an extra
day for big parcels to reach the South Island and for rural deliveries.
We use NZ Post for orders that can fit into overnight courier bags and Post Haste for larger parcels.
Tracking emails will be sent out once parcels have been collected.
The buyer may specify delivery instructions for an order (for example, the buyer may authorise the delivery agent to
leave the products in a specified location if the buyer will not be at the delivery address). RC Hobbies will
not be responsible for any order that is delivered in accordance with the buyer’s delivery instructions.
Delivery to PO Boxes
RC Hobbies can send goods to PO Boxes, except for large freight boxes.

Returns Policy
The item I received is not the item I ordered
Provided the item is unopened and in mint condition we’ll replace the item. To receive your replacement you must return the
original item to. You will be provided with a no-cost return addressed courier satchel (or similar)
and we will process your replacement within 1–3 days of receiving your item.
The item I ordered arrived faulty.
Please arrange with RC Hobbies to return the item for testing. If we confirm that the item was damaged before leaving
RC Hobbies, or was faulty out of the box, your item will be repaired or if it cannot be repaired then it will be replaced
by RC Hobbies Ltd free of charge. If the goods are faulty we will meet our obligations under the Consumers Guarantees
Act to provide a remedy.
The item I ordered did not arrive
If your item did not arrive the first thing to do is request a “track and trace” on your item from the Courier Post or Fastway
tracking emails we send out.

If the “track and trace” on your order indicates that it has been delivered, but you’re unable to find it or it hasn’t been
delivered within the timeframe we will start an investigation with Courier Post & Post Haste on your behalf.
Regrettably, neither RC Hobbies nor Courier Post & Fastway are able to refund or replace items that have been lost, damaged
or stolen after being delivered to your property. If you are concerned about leaving your items unattended we recommend
using “Signature Required” option which is our default option unless advise by the Buyer to use the “No Signature Required”
option.
I've changed my mind and no longer want the item I ordered
Change of mind returns can be processed as long as it has been agreed by RC Hobbies and the item has been returned
within 7 days of dispatch and is unopened and in mint condition. The shipping for the return will also be at the cost
of the buyer. Once we have the item in hand we will assess the item and if everything checks out OK you will receive
a Store Credit or refund less the restock fee and freight charges.
Restock fee
All goods ordered in error by the Customer or goods the Customer wishes to return are subject to a restock fee. The fee is
15% of the goods sales value. This applies if you change your mind, ordered it in error, unwanted Gift or just did not
